Steven Kent

Steven is an emerging artist based in Suffolk, where he moved to from Derbyshire in 1983.  He is largely self taught but studied at the University of Westminster where he gained a BA (Hons) in English Literature in 2001 and an MA in English Literature in 2006.

After graduating from University Steven decided to pursue his childhood ambition and become a professional artist.  He has shown his work in many local galleries and had his paintings published in a book called ‘Visions of Sudbury’. 

Steven likes using acrylic on traditional stretched canvas.  He enjoys painting a range of subjects including landscapes, portraits, pet portraits and figurative work and aims to capture the true beauty of form and colour.

The hard lines of buildings combined with the softer textures of vegetation and human forms attract him and are often featured in his work.
