I have always loved being creative and studied interior design and at one stage became a professional milliner.

Rediscovering painting I at first concentrated on watercolour and oils. This however for me proved unsatisfactory as I have a passion and love of colour. Then acrylics appeared in my life and wow what a revelation that was. I could now achieve the vibrant colours, tones and hues that I wanted.

As an abstract artist I now only paint in acrylics and other mixed media such as pastels, charcoal etc.

Each painting is a journey into the unknown. Occasionally the journey can be quick and short, but at other times long and frustrating. Working on several pieces at a time can inspire another painting that is struggling to become itself.

Pamela is thrilled to have been shortlisted for the RA Summer Exhibition with her recent artwork – Colour Of My Brain.
