Denise Franklin

I studied fine art at London Guildhall university later in life gaining a MA, however my interest of the arts has been an important part of my life. I work in many mediums but most recently I have been working with oil and cold wax along with mixed medium. I love the way the the work instinctively comes through during the processes. Approaching the work with a instinctive objective allowing the painting to evolve and keeping a balance between the colours and surface plain working in stages allowing the colours to come through creating rich textures thus forming an element of ambiguity which is a focus of my work. I have been interested in creating semi abstract images of land and seascapes representing diverse nature with its strong spirit.
