Chrissie Havers

Colour and the landscape – I would say that these are the two foremost components of my work. Mainly a self taught artist, I really enjoy experimenting with how colours relate to one another. I like to work on several paintings at the same time, and often find that each different work can inspire what to do with another. Still life and garden subjects are also very enticing.

A still life is like a landscape on the table and many flowers have quite outrageous colour combinations. So in turn, that can feed back into my landscape painting. I work now in acrylics usually on canvas, but also on wood panels. Each surface brings a different feel to the work.
